Overview

This office has a high volume of post, including letters and packages, which are sent out on a daily basis. Previously the company used a laser jet, sheet feed printer to print their labels. The office's post room however wanted a more cost-effective way of improving their labelling, which would also provide them with professional looking, high quality labels.

Issues: Smarter Labels on Demand

Previously labels were printed out on sheets with 12 labels per side. This meant that there was often wastage when an odd number of labels had to be printed or if a mistake was made, a whole sheet would have to feed through, to just print one label. This was both time consuming and costly. The quality of the labels was also not always very professional and the office felt this reflected badly on the company image.

Solution: CX Series and Label Gallery Easy Software

After consulting with a printer supplier, the company selected the SATO CX 200 thermal transfer printer with SATO Label Gallery Easy label design software to print their labels. They also chose SATO consumables, to achieve a more professional print quality. The system was installed in Administration, where the post is handled.

Label Gallery Easy software was selected for the label design because it is specially designed for the SATO CX Series. Together they provide a user-friendly application which takes next to know time to learn. The company was impressed by the straightforward set-up and users found that label design and print out proved effortless.

As with all SATO printers, the CX prints labels from a roll. Unlike sheet feed printing, it is very efficient at printing single labels on demand, reducing material waste.

The company's purchasing department was also impressed with the price. Bought as a package, the CX printer and Label Gallery Easy software "really is a low cost solution" for the small to medium user.
