SATO Iberia SA introduces its novelties for next 2007/2008 fiscal year in the 9th International Logistics and Handling Exhibition (S.I.L.’07)

Barcelona July 16, 2007 - SATO, Worldwide leader in the market of the barcode thermal printers, as well as EPC/RFID and labelling solutions, introduced in its stand, located inside the framework of recently concluded 9th International Logistics and Handling Exhibition (S.I.L. '07), its last novelties in the market of thermal printers for high-end and middle range industry applications, named GL4 and LM4, as well as a wide range of applications for the RFID market, among that stood out the process of following-up and control for RFID of meat products in industries (in this case specimen of Iberian ham as exhibited article), application that was widely followed-up for the numerous visitors that visited the stand to look at the systems performance.

This lounge that is celebrated by 9th consecutive year and that attracts more than 48.000 visitors, counted on more than 1.000 exhibitors (60 % was national) in this edition and business figures higher than 2.000 million euros were considered.

"In the past edition, due to the fact that scarcely they were fulfilled three months of our presence in Iberia, and after the inauguration of our facilities in Sabadell (Barcelona), we could count on a stand to the measure of our needs. In it we were able to show, in an interactive way, a real application that was simulating the process of the ham in its different phases: weighed, cured, transport, storage and picking and finally the sale to the detail in the outlet. Each of these processes has been supported by equipments and developments SATO's DCS, combining the printers SATO with RFID solutions, so much in the recording and reading of information of fixed way and in movement, as in the automatic application. In addition, on the other hand and without being absent to SATO's commitment, we have presented as innovations two new ranges of printers: GL4, one printer of high range with infinity of applications and opened the future thanks to its connectivity and prepared to be updated to RFID at any time and LM4, one SATO printer with the hardness and services typical of the brand, but with a very reasonable price, focused on the market of those who want the best printer to good price.” David Pradas, SATO Iberia Sales Manger says.

Besides of the indicated innovations, there was a small space with all the SATO's printers grouped in pedestals of different heights, where the public could verify the quality of their printing by means of the pulsation of a centralized button, which was ordering to the different printers of the SATO range the immediate printing and, all of them at the same time, of a label designed before.

On the other hand, which called the attention of the visitors was the area dedicated to the RFID, where among other applications, a print & apply system for RFID FlagTag labels (UHF) for the labelling of pallets appeared for time first in Iberia. In addition of this, the simulation of a few RFID antennas detecting and managing the movement of a trolley that there was transporting 12 hams with RFID HF labels, printed by means of a model GTe408e RFID printer after each of the hams passed for an electronic scale, which was indicating to the printer the weight and the cost of the above mentioned article. All this was detected and managed by the software developed to such an effect, so that on a screen LCD exposed to the audience, who saw the results of the readings in real time.

After this new presentation in society, it can be said that SATO has not disappointed the attendees) for the showed innovations and that the contacts established in this fair, which were numerous and very positive, confirm to SATO in its aptitude to create itself a wide space on the market of the logistics and the traceability that they will allow him to hobnob with the biggest of the sector in a little time.
