SATO Signs Agreement To Acquire TrakIT Systems

Brussels, 5 November 2007 - SATO, a pioneer in the Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC) industry and a leader in barcode printing, labelling, and EPC/RFID solutions, announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Nashville-based TrakIT Systems, Inc., a leading global provider of end-to-end Automatic Identification Software and Integration Services.

TrackIT Systems will be integrated into SATO America and renamed as the Integration Solutions Division (ISD). TrackIT Systems is well-known for its supply chain management expertise in software development, deployment and integrated RFID solutions in the Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail, Pharmaceutical, Food, Horticulture, Transportation and Healthcare industries. It boasts a customer portfolio that includes Tier 1 Fortune 500 companies that utilize barcode and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) integration solutions and hardware, and warehouse management systems (WMS).

Bob Linse, president of SATO America said, “This acquisition creates a collaborative platform to deploy end-to-end solutions combining automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) technologies that integrate with enterprise, warehouse, medical, and supply chain applications. It allows us to roll out a proven integration infrastructure and customer-centric solutions that will benefit not only end-users, but will extend to our network of highly valued VARs."

“The acquisition is consistent with SATO’s global strategy of adding integration capabilities to deliver ‘DCS & Labelling’ solutions, which sets us apart from the competition, further strengthening our leading position in the AIDC sector,” said Kaz Matsuyama, Managing Director of SATO International.
