SATO exhibits innovative labelling solutions for processing and packaging at PPMA Show 2015

9/17/2015

Birmingham, September 17, 2015 – SATO, a leading global provider of Auto-ID solutions that empower workforces and streamline operations, will showcase its latest solutions for the processing and packaging industry at this year’s PPMA Show (stand F80), at the NEC in Birmingham from 29 September to 1 October. Highlights include SATO’s groundbreaking NX series of industrial thermal printers and high-performance S84-ex and S86-ex print engines for high speed print and apply applications.

Accuracy of food labelling in the process and packaging industry is vital to comply with the European Directive 1169/2011 which stipulates that labels must provide customers with information such as the presence of allergens and glutens. As companies in this sector often export their products to different countries, being able to store more data on labels – in different languages or even different alphabetic characters – is essential. With its fast-paced working environments, the industry also demands high-speed print and apply solutions.

To meet these needs, SATO’s NX series of industrial printers features a display reading in 31 global languages and 100MB user accessible memory allowing formats, large graphics and custom fonts to be stored while delivering best-in-class speed processing power and fast throughput speed of 250mm/s. To ensure sturdiness and durability, essential parts including frame, base plate and print head are manufactured using die cast aluminium

Alongside the NX series, SATO’s S84-ex and S86-ex print engines for print & apply applications offer easy operation, setup and maintenance to reduce downtimes. Print head replacement is simple thanks to a tool-less design, lengthy cable and easy access. Locking side covers allow for quick and easy replacement of platen rollers, and the sensor cover’s design and non-stick surface help service engineers or operators easily clean or replace parts without the necessity of tools.

Other highlights at PPMA Show will include
SATO’s CG series of label printers – which offer high speeds up to 101 mm/s and user-friendly features for easy operation and maintenance as well as high quality print resolution (305 dpi) to ensure clearly legible labelling.

Also on display are SATO’s MB series of lightweight mobile printers which have been designed with ease-of-use and easy media and battery loading. SATO also specialises in the conversion and supply of environmentally-friendly labelling solutions. SATO’s Linerless labels are produced without using release liners which means they have minimal waste impact and zero landfill costs.

“We’re delighted to be part of the PPMA Show 2015, which is a great opportunity for us to showcase our expertise and experience on the most appropriate products and solutions enabling businesses to improve their operations,” says Neil Batchelor, General Manager, SATO International Europe.
“We are committed to helping the processing and packaging industry produce labels that meet the latest EU legal obligations while increasing efficiency, optimising internal and external logistics processes and most notably to cut costs.”
