SATO to Exhibit New Food Labelling Solutions at Food Matters Live in London

9/28/2016

Heidelberg, 28th September 2016 – SATO, a leading global provider of Auto-ID solutions that empower workforces, will exhibit the future of streamlined food preparation at Food Matters Live in London (ExCeL) from 22nd to 24thNovember (stand #412). The company will display its latest labelling and barcode technology designed to enhance safety and efficiency to meet the demands of modern restaurants, kitchens, bakeries, and more.

SATO will be showing its new colour-coded label to help food retailers comply with upcoming EU labelling legislation – Regulation (EU) 1169/2011. Displaying the latest traffic light design, the label enables consumers to visualise at a glance vital information about food products. The new colour-coded labels are available alongside the TH2 intelligent standalone and portable printer. Thanks to user-friendly software, users can easily print labels detailing vital information such as ingredients, packaging date, use-by date, price and barcode. An internal real-time clock quickly calculates and prints the time and date onto the traffic light labels, minimising human error and ensuring food safety.

Additionally, SATO’s JUDO FOOD handheld labelling solution is the only hand labeller on the market to print the date and month in full, enabling users to easily improve food security as well as flexibility. SATO’s JUDO FOOD comes with 13 predesigned, commonly used food industry phrases such as: ‘cooked on’, ‘defrosted on’, ‘storage temperature’ and ‘best before’.

Another highlight will be SATO’s Application Enabled Printing (AEP) CL4NX printer that can be used as a standalone printing solution, eliminating the need for costly computers while keeping hardware footprint to a minimum.

“The food industry will appreciate the improved productivity that AEP brings. It requires less training to print labels by querying printer-stored or external databases automatically,” commented Neil Batchelor, General Manager of SATO Europe. “We have reliable solutions for all areas of the food industry, from preparation of ingredients in the kitchen to the final product packaging”.
