SATO exhibits labelling and print-and-apply solutions for the food industry at CFIA 2016

Heidelberg, February 22, 2016 – SATO (TSE:6287), a leading global provider of Auto-ID solutions that empower workforces and streamline operations, will demonstrate how its latest standalone labelling solutions can help the food industry increase productivity and efficiency at this year’s CFIA show in Rennes, France (8-10 March, stand D8, Hall 2). The company will be presenting a print and apply system – which integrates the S84-ex print engine – and the new NX series of industrial printers with embedded Application-Enabled Printing (AEP) technology to show visitors how labels can be quickly and easily printed and applied in a range of food packaging applications.

“Our print and apply systems are designed to meet the demand of the fast-paced food manufacturing industry and help businesses optimise internal and external logistics processes and most notably cut costs, offering ease-of-use, low maintenance and high durability,” comments Neil Batchelor General Manager, SATO Europe. “Through the development of our NX Series, we are able to offer an even greater level of flexibility to our customers, minimise their total cost of ownership and boost efficiency to give them a competitive edge.”

SATO’s NX Series is ideal for demanding food and drink packaging operations. Thanks to its new AEP feature – meaning that a PC is no longer essential for printing - it now offers a real problem-solving platform with great benefits in terms of ease-of-use, efficiency, cost reductions and space savings. The printer also ensures exceptional processing and throughput speed and memory capacity as well as ultimate print quality, with labels clearly indicating vital information about foods and beverages, in line with EU legal regulations (European Directive 1169/2011). Other features include coreless ribbon supply, which eliminates waste and helps reduce energy costs and consumption.

Alongside the NX series, the S84-ex print engine has been integrated in a print and apply system to ensure high precision in applying labels on the top of each of a food punnets. Different label sizes are available -- from 30 x 50 mm (minimum) to 120 x 250 mm (maximum) - providing maximum flexibility to the user, while an applicator system with aspiring belt ensures high print and apply speed.
