SATO Europe Launches the CL4-SXR and CL6-SXR, its Next-Generation Flagship Industrial Label Printers
29/09/26
29th September 2026 – Heidelberg, Germany – SATO Europe, a global provider of labelling and auto-identification solutions, today announces the European launch of the CL4-SXR and CL6-SXR, the new flagship industrial label printers from SATO Corporation. The line follows its global rollout from January 2026 and is now available to customers and Business Partners across Europe.
The next-generation line delivers improved print speed and accuracy, advanced sensor technology, a redesigned user interface and AI-based predictive maintenance, capabilities that go significantly beyond those of previous models. The CL4-SXR has also been recognised with the Red Dot Design Award 2026 in the Industrial Equipment, Machinery and Automation category, the third Red Dot win for a SATO product following previous awards in 2017 and 2020.
Developed as the next evolution of SATO's industrial range, the CL4-SXR and CL6-SXR embody SATO's long-standing commitment to reliability and innovation. The line has been designed for industries undergoing rapid digital transformation and facing growing workforce challenges, supporting customers in building the workplaces of the future. , the printers combine speed, precision, durability, ease of use, predictive maintenance and eco-conscious design in a single industrial platform built to meet every on-site labelling need.
The new line delivers industry-leading print performance, with speeds of up to 18 inches per second at 203 dpi and 16 inches per second at 305 dpi, supported by a custom-designed thermal head and a high-precision mode that achieves a printing accuracy of plus or minus 0.3 mm[1]. The result is exceptional print quality across applications that demand exact alignment, from nameplate and micro labelling in electronics manufacturing through to high-volume distribution. A redesigned peel-off unit, with a movable peel sensor, ensures reliable handling of thin labels, strong adhesives and irregularly shaped labels in continuous production environments.
The larger 4.3-inch colour touch panel makes the printer straightforward to operate for any user, on any shift. The CL4-SXR and CL6-SXR also support stable, continuous operation through AI-based condition monitoring, predicting potential failures before they occur and enabling predictive maintenance.
Sustainability is built into the platform from the ground up. Approximately 34 per cent of the printer's resin components are made from recycled materials, and a no-label-waste function allows accurate printing from the very first label, reducing material waste from the moment the printer is deployed.
"The launch of the CL4-SXR and CL6-SXR represents more than a new product for SATO. It reflects the growing importance of intelligent auto-ID solutions in helping businesses become smarter, faster and more connected. This flagship platform reinforces our commitment to driving operational excellence and supporting our customers' digital transformation journeys," said Laurent Lassus, Managing Director and Head of Europe at SATO Europe.
The CL4-SXR (4-inch model) and CL6-SXR (6-inch model) are available across SATO Europe's network from 29 September 2026, supported by a full range of certified Business Partners and industry-specific configurations for healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, manufacturing, automotive, electronics, retail and transport and logistics.
