SATO Europe Receives Excellence Award for HACCP Solution at World Hotel 2026
11/03/26
11 March 2026 - Heidelberg, Germany - SATO Europe, a global provider of auto-identification and labelling solutions, has been awarded an Excellence Award at World Hotel 2026, the International Trade Fair for the Hotel Industry, held from 10 to 12 March at Ptak Warsaw Expo in Nadarzyn, Poland. The distinction was granted in the Hotel and Gastronomic Equipment (HoReCa) category for SATO Europe’s HACCP solution with a label printer.
Now in its 18th edition, World Hotel brings together owners, managers and suppliers across the hotel and hospitality sector, attracting more than 20,000 visitors and 600 exhibitors. The Excellence Award programme recognises companies whose products demonstrate innovation, high standards of workmanship and a measurable impact on the quality of services in the hotel industry.
A practical response to a real operational challenge
Food safety compliance in the HoReCa sector typically involves significant manual effort. Kitchen teams must record temperatures, monitor shelf life, track preparation processes and maintain documentation for audit purposes. When these tasks rely on pen and paper, the risk of errors, missed checks and wasted time increases.
The SATO Food Safety Management application, developed in collaboration with Lilian Charles, Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France) in food safety, addresses this directly. The cloud-based platform connects wirelessly to the SATO WS4 label printer via a tablet device, enabling kitchen staff to manage food safety processes from a single point. The system automatically records measurements such as refrigerator temperatures, monitors critical deadlines including fryer oil quality checks and use-by dates, and prints compliant labels as part of the workflow. Managers can check task completion remotely, giving them oversight across multiple sites without needing to be on location.
The result is less paperwork, fewer mistakes and greater confidence that food safety standards are consistently met.
Alongside the award-winning HACCP solution, SATO Europe also showcased the FX3-LX intelligent printer at World Hotel. The FX3-LX is a multi-application labelling device designed for kitchen and food service environments, featuring an anti-bacterial case, a 7-inch touchscreen interface and support for multiple languages. It handles day-to-day tasks such as printing allergen and ingredient labels, INCO-compliant food information, use-by and best-before dates, and tamper-proof linerless labels for takeaway and delivery operations. Temperature scanning devices can also connect directly to the printer for goods-in checks, making it a practical tool across restaurant, hotel and catering environments.
Recognition that reflects real-world value
The award is a signal that practical, outcome-led solutions are gaining recognition in the hospitality sector. As HACCP legislation across Europe becomes more stringent and audit expectations rise, HoReCa businesses need tools that simplify compliance rather than add to the administrative burden.
The SATO Food Safety Management application is designed to scale from independent restaurants to large multi-site operations, with customisable self-control parameters that can be tailored to each kitchen’s specific requirements. The system’s intuitive interface means staff can be trained quickly, which is particularly valuable in an industry with high employee turnover.
World Hotel 2026 provided a strong platform for SATO Europe to demonstrate how auto-identification technology can solve everyday operational challenges in the hospitality sector.
