21st May 2026 Heidelberg, Germany SATO Europe, a global provider of labelling and auto-identification solutions, has delivered the cloud-enabled printing technology behind Tony's Chocolonely's move from on-premise labelling to a fully connected, cloud-managed setup, deployed in partnership with integration specialist De Koningh Coding & Labelling.

At the heart of the new setup are SATO cloud-enabled printers, replacing the chocolate manufacturer's previous on-premise SATO printers and applicators. The printers connect directly into Loftware Cloud Business for label management and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as the underlying business platform, creating a single environment where label data flows from the ERP to the print head with no manual handover in between.

For Tony's Chocolonely, the move addresses a familiar pressure for food manufacturers operating at scale: keeping label accuracy, traceability and compliance in step with growing production volumes, without adding manual workload to the shop floor.

SATO's cloud-enabled printers are what makes that shift practical day to day. The printers are monitored, configured and updated centrally, which removes a significant chunk of the operational overhead that comes with on-premise hardware. On the shop floor, production teams print from a centralised label data source, with consistent output across lines, sharper traceability through the supply chain and fewer manual errors at the point of print.

The project was designed and implemented by De Koningh Coding & Labeling, drawing on its specialist expertise in coding, labelling and ERP-connected production environments to deliver a single working solution for Tony's.

"This collaboration demonstrates the power of innovation and strategic partnership," said Mischa van Doorn, Branch Manager Benelux, SATO Europe. "By combining the expertise of all parties involved, our partner delivered a future-ready cloud solution in which our label printing technology plays a critical role in the digitalisation and optimisation of operational processes. Together, we create solutions that enable customers to work more efficiently, intelligently and at scale."

For SATO, the project is a clear example of where the wider market is heading. Across food and consumer manufacturing, customers are moving beyond standalone printer fleets toward cloud-enabled labelling that sits inside the broader IT and ERP landscape, and SATO's cloud-enabled printer range is built for exactly that environment.
